Food allergies can be serious. Always read the product-specific ingredient and allergen information on the product page and any label supplied with the bake. If you have an allergy or intolerance and the information is missing or unclear, contact management@smithyybakes.uk before ordering and wait for a clear response. Do not eat a product if you are unsure it is safe for you.
Customer responsibility to check the information does not replace Smithyy Bakes' responsibility to provide accurate information and follow food-safety and allergen rules.
The 14 regulated allergen groups
Where relevant, information must cover the regulated allergens:
- Celery
- Cereals containing gluten, including wheat, rye, barley and oats
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Lupin
- Milk
- Molluscs
- Mustard
- Tree nuts
- Peanuts
- Sesame
- Soya
- Sulphur dioxide / sulphites above applicable thresholds
This general list does not say which allergens are present in a particular product. Always check the individual product information.
Ingredient and cross-contact information
Product recipes, supplier ingredients, substitutions and kitchen practices can change. Ingredient and allergen details should be kept current, including information about possible cross-contact through equipment, storage, preparation and packaging. Any “may contain” statement should reflect an honest assessment of the actual cross-contact risk; it is not a substitute for managing that risk.
Ingredient and allergen information should be checked whenever a recipe or supplier changes. Always use the current information for the specific product. Applicable ingredient and allergen information should be available before purchase and again when the food is delivered.
Customer checks
Please read the details for every item in your basket, including items in boxes or mixed assortments. If you order on behalf of another person, make sure they can receive the allergen information before eating. If you are uncertain, do not consume the product and ask us first.
